Welcome, Guests!

We're thrilled to have you as our guest at the lodge!

We are very happy to have you join us in our cozy, ski-in ski-out lodge on the side of Pico Mountain.
Our cozy lodge is ski-in ski-out on the side of Pico Mountain and was built by our original Thames Ski Club members in 1968. The club has been chartered since 1956.  The house has a glorious stone wall fireplace that heats up the main floor beautifully, 12 bedrooms (sleeps 40) and has 2 communal style bathrooms for men and women, and two private bathrooms with plenty of hot water.  We also have a communal sauna to relax in after a long day skiing!  Our lower level contains a fabulous hang out for the younger crowd a TV room and a boot room to hold all your equipment (that includes a multi-boot dryer unit).  The house has full Wi-Fi, Cable TV, great games, and plenty of seating for many hours of conversation.  We are very proud of our lodge!

Before visiting, here are a few tips to help you prepare for your stay.
During our winter ski season we have weekend Trip Leaders that coordinate the sign ups, organize food for breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday mornings and prepare the main meal on Saturday evening.  The member who is hosting your visit can help you if you have any questions on those details.  There is also plenty of storage for you to bring your own food for lunches, snacks and communal sharing (we do a lot of sharing!).  As a guest in our shared space, we want you to know the lodge house is maintained and cared for by us (members). We do hope our guests join us in this by pitching in to help prior to departure.  This communal participation has been the culture of the club and the backbone of the sustainability of the Ski Club membership for over 60 years.   We look forward to meeting you, sharing more history and membership information and most important welcoming you into our home in Vermont.

 Lodge FAQ

Where is the lodge located?
Thames Ski Club Lodge is located at 325 Brad Mead Drive, Killington VT 05751.  This location is the heart of Killington.  Truly ideal as you have Pico Mtn. on one side, Killington on the other.  Great restaurants within minutes, other activities all year round from fairs, hiking, biking, shopping, noshing, beer drinking.

What bedding should I bring with me?
The bedrooms at the lodge are small and furnished with 2 sets of sturdy bunk beds in each. The mattress is an extra-long twin.  We supply a mattress pad and pillow on each bed.  There are a few hangers and place to hang up clothing.  Bring bedding (sleeping bag, or sheets), pillow-case and towels as well as your toiletries.

What are the food arrangements?
In the winter ski season, dinner is planned and cooked by club members with help from anyone who wishes to jump in. Breakfast food is available. However, you are responsible for cooking your own breakfast and cleaning up after yourself. The club does not provide lunch food.  We have a fully equipped kitchen for you to cook your own meals as well as storage for your food.

I have small children with me - is there anything for them to do?
There is a game room in the lower level that is equipped with a Foosball table, board games and a second television that is often used for X-Box games when a member or guest brings one with them. Parents are encouraged to have their children use this area for fun and games later in the day as the main lounge and TV room are considered adult areas in the late afternoon and evening.

Is there Internet service at the lodge?
Yes. There is wireless service located at the lodge as well as a computer located in the game room which is available to anyone. We also have a printer located in the same room.

Is there cell phone service at the lodge?
The lodge is outfitted with a cell signal booster that gives service for all US carriers within the house. Certain areas are better than others however and the best service is found on the main level.

Will I have to share a room?
Every effort is made to accommodate room requests and to ensure that families and friends are in a private room. Occasionally when the lodge is very full (winter ski season) an adult member of your party may be asked to share a room with other adults of the same sex. Young children will never be separated from their parent/guardian and men and women will never be asked to share with strangers of the opposite sex.

Is the lodge ski in/ski out?
Yes!  By walking a hundred yards down the hill, behind neighboring Pico Condos, you can easily reach A Slope and ski down to the lift lines at the base. Skiing home, there is a path and we encourage you to review the map and possibly ski with a seasoned visitor or member to learn this path home.  If per chance the weather is bad or you have young children, the drive to Pico is 3 minutes.

Path:  (C Slope to Home Run (cut through the trees if you can, otherwise you are hiking 30 yards up a hill!), cut directly across B slope and pick up Home Run again through the trees and under Little Pico Chair to A Slope. Ski diagonally across A Slope and you will see the trail that leads back to the Lodge.)

What else?
We are a membership that enjoys getting to know people, sharing a passion of skiing, food and libations.  We have legacy members that grew up in the club as children and now they are adults raising their families through the same traditions.  We have been successful maintaining a culture of caring for our lodge, and our costs are low because of this culture of hands on.  If this is a culture you also would enjoy being part of, please express your interest with your host.
